One change that I have gone through recently is actually leaving for college to play a college sport. Moving away from home was a totally different experience. I have never lived in an apartment before. Now, I have a room mate to share my room with. Also, playing a college sport is very different than playing high school sports. I have to play with a whole new group of girls that I had never met before. Learning to adapt to how everyone plays can be very difficult at times. In high school, everyone had grown up playing with each other and knew how everybody on the court played. Another important part of my newly discovered college life is having to have a atleast a 3.5 or higher to get an extra $1000 to put towards my schooling. Students that are not playing sports can still earn $500 as long as they have a 3.0 to 3.5. That doesn't apply to me though since I'm in a sport. My grades in high school were never that big of an issue. I didn't have to worry about getting a certain GPA. Since I could use the extra money, like most college students, I am having to be a lot more focused on my school work. College is also more stressful. Being involved in a sport is very time consuming. We have class in the mornings, then practices in the afternoons, then I also have 2 campus jobs. After I'm finished working I go back to my apartment and finish my homework and get ready for bed. The next day I do the same thing. Therefore, college is more stressful and time consuming, thus causing more stress. One way that college makes this just a little less stressful is having a schedule that has classes only every other day insead of everyday like in high school. So, if you happen to have some extra time one night you can work on homework that might not be due for another day. This will help take off stress that will be occumulated from the days' busy schedule.
